Trustee vacancy

We are a charity pursuing the vision of a professional, modern and progressive education, drawing on the best educational practices, working to the highest standards, and focused on the unique potential of every child.

The Waldorf Learning Foundation has grown out of Wynstones, a Steiner Waldorf School in Gloucestershire which was closed in 2020 after a series of failings.  An entirely new Trustee and Executive team has come together to take the charity forward.  We believe that offering a professional, modern and progressive Steiner Waldorf Education is both achievable and important but will require long‐term dedication and vision.

Our current priorities are:

  • Launching with a highly regarding teaching university a new, validated and professionally accredited qualifications in Waldorf Education and Creative Pedagogy to improve quality in the sector;
  • Working towards the establishment of a new school that will embody the charity’s vision and operate to the highest standards;
  • Disposing of the former school’s assets insofar as that is necessary to put the charity on a sustainable footing.

We are looking for several new trustees to join an already established board of governors of the Waldorf Learning Foundation.

We seek a diversity in backgrounds, knowledge and experience to help the charity navigate the path ahead and accomplish its mission. We are particularly looking for new Trustees with experience in:

(a) education and education policy, including early years and primary education; and

(b) financial and business management.

We are also keen to diversify our Trustee group particularly in terms of ethnicity, disability, sexuality and age.

We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and are an affirmative action employer and charity environment. Essentially, we want to work with the best people, no matter their background.  We will not discriminate and will take affirmative action measures to ensure against discrimination in employment, recruitment, advertisements for employment, compensation, termination, upgrading, promotions, and other conditions of employment against any employee or job applicant on the bases of race, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, citizenship, relationship choices and status, or disability.

We’d especially love to hear from you if you’re from an under-represented demographic.
